Somewhere around this time frame we were officially out of base jail! For the first year here we were required to live on a military base. Afterwards, we had the option to move out in the local economy if we choose (and it’s probably no surprise that we chose to). After two weeks of searching, waiting, and completing paperwork, we signed the lease and were handed over a set of keys.
I wish I could say this will be the last time we have to pack and move, but it was our last time of having fences to block our view! (Although I’ll admit… even though we can see pieces of the ocean and mountains from our rooftop, I miss seeing Vesuvius in the distance!)
Here is a sneak peak of our Italian home! Complete with charm, quirkiness, tile work, and fruit trees. Also, I get to live out my lifelong dream of having a spiral staircase (it isn’t in a library but it leads to a rooftop view so I’m okay with that!).
Our roots will forever be from here, America, born and raised. Yet, life requires us to move more frequently than we care to count. Whether living stateside or abroad, you can always find us traveling somewhere. We scout out places that you only think you can dream of one day seeing and we seek out those that aren’t found in guidebooks. We then bring them to life here in our travel memos, so hopefully, one day you too can visit them or at least be able to live vicariously through us. This blog isn’t just about crossing off places from a bucket list. It’s about absorbing and learning how other cultures grow and fit into the same world that we do. Life is short and the world is big. Enjoy and get out there!
