Amman Food Tour
This was one of my favorite parts of our entire trip! In Egypt, we were guided around with tours so we were taken to tons of buffets and hotel dining for generic food. And while we did enjoy the food, we didn’t feel like we were getting the authentic experience with local cuisine. We only got to go out once by ourselves while in Egypt, otherwise we were fed the same foods repeatedly. Our food tour in Amman was a complete 180 experience and was absolutely incredible! We checked out the city as we walked from our hotel (without being bombarded by people begging for money or trying to sell us something I might add!) to Rainbow Road to meet our fantastic guide. She zigzagged through the city showing us, not the spots that were famous because someone famous had been there, but the spots that were popular among the locals. Exactly the places we otherwise would have tried to find ourselves. We tried their “pizza” with thyme, falaphels, taste tested our way through the markets, indulged in mansaf, fresh juices off the street, and enjoyed all of their delicious sweets and ice cream. Everything was so delectable!

Our roots will forever be from here, America, born and raised. Yet, life requires us to move more frequently than we care to count. Whether living stateside or abroad, you can always find us traveling somewhere. We scout out places that you only think you can dream of one day seeing and we seek out those that aren’t found in guidebooks. We then bring them to life here in our travel memos, so hopefully, one day you too can visit them or at least be able to live vicariously through us. This blog isn’t just about crossing off places from a bucket list. It’s about absorbing and learning how other cultures grow and fit into the same world that we do. Life is short and the world is big. Enjoy and get out there!
